PCMS Control and Communications Sample Clauses
PCMS Control and Communications. The PCMS field controller shall be able to receive instructions from and provide information to a computer containing PCMS control software using the following communication modes:
3.21.1 Remotely – Via direct (e.g., RS-232, RJ45 Ethernet, broadband modem such as Satellite, Cable, DSL). The system communications backbone, as well as all field modems or signal converters, shall provide the PCMS field controller with either an RS-232 signal having a baud rate between 2,400 bps and 115200 bps, and/or an RJ45 Ethernet 10/100Mbps signal.
3.21.2 Locally – Via direct connection with a laptop computer that is connected directly to the field controller using a null modem connection and a baud rate between 2,400 bps and 115200 bps.
3.21.3 Locally – Via a keypad and LCD interface. This provides a way to add or remove message(s) from the PCMS list of installed messages, adjust luminosity to manual or automatic and monitor miscellaneous data like battery voltage, photocells reading, etc.
PCMS Control and Communications. Each PCMS shall be controlled and monitored by its own field controller. The field controller shall be a stand-alone microcomputer, which does not require continuous communication with PCMS control software to perform most PCMS control functions. The field controller shall be capable of communicating with another computer via both RS-232 and RJ45 Ethernet connections.
2.5.1 The PCMS field controller shall be able to receive instructions from and provide information to a computer containing PCMS control software using the following communication modes:
2.5.1.1 Remotely – Via direct (e.g., RS-232, RJ45 Ethernet, broadband modem such as Satellite, Cable, DSL. The system communications backbone, as well as all field modems or signal converters, shall provide the PCMS field controller with either an RS-232 signal having a baud rate between 2,400 bps and 115200 bps, and/or an RJ45 Ethernet 10/100Mbps signal.
2.5.1.2 Locally – Via direct connection with a laptop computer that is connected directly to the field controller using a null modem connection and a baud rate between 2,400 bps and 115200 bps.
2.5.1.3 Locally – Via a keypad/ touch screen and LCD interface.
