Common use of PEACE AND STABILITY Clause in Contracts

PEACE AND STABILITY. Section 1. It is understood that there shall be no strike, as that term is defined under the Public Employe Relations Act, during the life of this Agreement, nor shall any officer, representative or official of the Union authorize, assist or encourage any such strike during the life of this Agreement. Section 2. Should a strike occur not authorized by the Union, the Union within 24 hours following the request of the Employer shall: a. Publicly disavow such action by the employees. b. Advise the Employer in writing that such employee action has not been authorized or sanctioned by the Union. c. Post notices on all bulletin boards advising employees that it disapproves of such action and instruct them to return to work immediately. Section 3. The Employer reserves the right to discipline, suspend, demote, or discharge any employee or employees who violate the provisions of Section 1 of this Article. Section 4. The Employer will not engage in any lockout during the life of this Agreement.
