PERSONAL OBLIGATION LEAVE. 6.5.1 Each teacher shall be allowed a maximum of three (3) days each year of personal leave with pay for his/her personal obligations or emergencies. In case of emergency or a matter which cannot be attended to outside of the normal school day, a teacher may use one day of sick leave as a personal leave day. Such day shall be deducted from the teacher's sick leave allowance. 6.5.2 In the event more than two teachers shall request a personal obligation leave day pursuant to 6.5.3 of this Section, for the same day, the Chief School Officer shall have the discretion to deny any such request in excess of the first two. 6.5.3 Application for such leave shall be made as far in advance as is practicable, and, except for an emergency, shall be made at least forty- eight (48) hours prior to the date of the absence.
