Curricular Events It is our agreed upon policy that (police department with patrol responsibilities), working in conjunction with appropriate school officials, should, whenever possible, provide for the presence of uniformed police officer(s) at any event at which the chief school administrator believes it would be in the interest of public safety. In the absence of compelling reasons as may be determined by the (county prosecutor or chief executive officer of the law enforcement agency having patrol jurisdiction) it is understood and agreed that uniformed police officers shall not be assigned to school functions, and especially those functions occurring within school buildings, except with the approval of the building principal or local chief school administrator.
