Common use of Political Force Majeure Events Clause in Contracts

Political Force Majeure Events. Political force majeure events shall mean one or more of the following acts or events by or on account of GoI, GoCG or any other governmental agency: (i) Change in law; (ii) Expropriation or compulsory acquisition by any governmental agency of any project assets or the rights of the Authorisee or of the contractors; and (iii) Unlawful or unauthorized or without jurisdiction revocation of, refusal to renew or grant without valid cause any consent or approval required by the Authorisee or any of the contractors to perform their respective obligations under the project agreements. Provide that such delay, modification, denial, refusal or revocation did not result from the Authorisee or any contractor’s inability or failure to comply with any condition relating to grant, maintenance or renewal of such consents or permits.
