Posting And Filling Of Vacancies For Voluntary Transfers. 11.7.1 In order to be considered for a posted vacancy, an applicant must meet the minimum qualifications for the position and any other elements listed in the posting. Unit members of temporary status must apply for a position to be considered, including the position currently held. Any teacher of temporary status who does not apply for a vacancy, or who is not selected for a vacancy by the time the posting and filling process is completed, will be assigned by the District. 11.7.2 If there are two or more applicants for one vacancy, the decision if made before April 1 shall be based on the following criteria: 11.7.2.1 certification and/or major and minor subject areas of the bargaining unit member; 11.7.2.2 recent experience of the bargaining unit member; 11.7.2.3 program needs in the school as listed in the posting; 11.7.2.4 whether a bargaining unit member has been involuntarily transferred within the prior year; and 11.7.2.5 if two (2) or more bargaining unit members are judged by the principal to be equal after applying all the above criteria, then length of service within the District will be the deciding factor. After April 1, the decision will be based solely on the unit members’ qualifications for the position. 11.7.3 Upon request of a bargaining unit member who has not been selected for a vacancy, the District will provide the reason for the non-selection in writing.
