Preliminary Level. A faculty member having a complaint shall first bring the matter to the attention of the faculty member’s immediate supervisor, typically the Division Head. In the event of a Faculty Senate complaint, the matter shall be brought to the attention of the appropriate administrator. The grievant shall request an informal meeting with that supervisor or other administrator to discuss the problem not later than fifteen (15) days after the event or occurrence which is the basis of the complaint, or fifteen (15) days after the event or occurrence should reasonably have been known, whichever is later. In the event the immediate supervisor or administrator does not have jurisdiction over the subject of the complaint, the immediate supervisor or administrator shall promptly refer the grievant to the proper supervisor. The immediate supervisor or the one having jurisdiction over the subject shall make arrangements to hold a meeting to discuss the problem with the grievant within ten (10) days after receipt of the grievant’s request. The grievant shall be given an answer within five (5) days after the meeting.

Preliminary Level. This is the preparatory level for people without experience in entomology. No course will be developed during EPIC-Bee for this level. They will be self-trained using online tools to learn what bees are, how to separate them from other insects, and how to separate males from females. ● Level 1. Basic level. People entering this level show some background in working with bees. Training at basic level will include field excursions aimed at practicing identification of specimens at genus level in the field, as well as practical experience in collecting specimens and preparing them (e.g. pinning, labelling) for later laboratory examination. The goal is to train identification to genus level plus some common species.

If, after such discussion, the grievant is not satisfied, he shall be entitled to have the Association assist him in further efforts to resolve the grievance at the preliminary level with his immediate supervisor.
