Amount of Withdrawal Charge — The amount of a withdrawal charge depends on how long the Purchase Payments are held under this Contract. Each Purchase Payment you make is considered to have a certain “age,” depending on the length of time since that Purchase Payment was effective. A Purchase Payment is “age one” from the day it was effective until the next Contract Anniversary and increases in “age” on that and each succeeding Contract Anniversary. When you withdraw an amount, the “age” of any Purchase Payment you withdraw determines the level of withdrawal charge as shown in the Contract Specifications. For purposes of calculating the withdrawal charge, we assume that amounts withdrawn will be applied to Purchase Payments first and in the order the Purchase Payments were received. The withdrawal charge will be deducted proportionately from each Investment Option selected for withdrawal. Free Withdrawals — During a Contract Year, you may withdraw free of withdrawal charges amounts up to the sum of your earnings plus your “Eligible Purchase Payments”.
