Protection of Civilians. The Tatmadaw and the Ethnic Armed Organizations shall abide by the following provisions regarding the protection of civilians:
Protection of Civilians. 3.1 The Parties shall refrain from attacks on the civilian population and commit to the protection of human rights, life and property as provided by various national, continental and international instruments;
3.2 The Parties shall refrain from any acts of rape, sexual abuse and torture as prohibited by applicable national, continental and international instruments;
3.3 The Parties shall not engage in any acts of violence against children, girls, women and the elderly and more importantly, they shall support the reunion of families;
3.4 The Parties shall cease acts of violence including summary executions, displacement of populations, all forms of torture, destruction of property, attacking civilian aircrafts, vehicles or riverboats, recruitment of child soldiers or any other acts as prohibited by applicable national, continental and international instruments.

Protection of Civilians. We commit ourselves to: • Take all steps required to prevent all attacks, threats, intimidation and any other form of violence against civilians by any Party or group, including the Janjaweed and other militias; • Respect the property and livelihoods of individuals and communities; • Ensure that the principle of voluntary return is fully respected and is not tampered with in any shape or form, consistent with general UN return principles; • Maintain the civilian character of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugee camps; • Protect the rights of IDPs and refugees to return to their areas of origin; • Protect the rights of IDPs and refugees in their areas of origin in order to enable them to return, should they choose to do so; • Cooperate fully with the CFC and swiftly implement its recommendations; • Ensure that all forces and individuals involved or reported to be involved in violations of the rights of IDPs, vulnerable groups and other civilians will be transparently investigated and held accountable to the appropriate authorities; • Implement all commitments related to the protection of civilians in a manner consistent with the N’djamena and Addis Ababa Agreements. We request the AMIS to monitor the implementation of this commitment and to report thereon to the Joint Commission (JC), provided for in the N’djamena Agreement, on a regular basis.
Protection of Civilians the civilian population and civilian objects
1. In implementing this Protocol, each High Contracting Party and party to an armed conflict shall ensure full compliance with all applicable principles and rules of international humanitarian law.
2. Nothing in this Protocol shall be interpreted as detracting from, or otherwise prejudicing, other principles and rules of international humanitarian law.
Protection of Civilians. The Parties shall, in particular, condemn any act of sexual and gender-based violence, any net of violence against children, girls, women and the elderly, including recruitment and conscription of child soldiers, and support family reunification.
Protection of Civilians. The Parties shall protect the human rights of the civilian population and commit to upholding applicable international humanitarian law instruments to which Ethiopia is a party;

Protection of Civilians. 1) The Parties shall protect civilians from any form of attacks by other armed actors not part of this Agreement operating within South Sudan.
2) The Parties shall cooperate with UNMISS in the discharge of its mandate to protect civilians.
3) The Parties shall fully support full and rapid deployment and operations of Regional Protection Force (RPF).
4) The Parties shall ensure that all other non-South Sudanese armed groups leave the country.
Protection of Civilians. The signatories to the agreement must obey and implement the following points for civilians in ceasefire areas
1. Negotiate and cooperate so that civilians in the conflict area can enjoy full security, rule of law and basic human rights.
2. Negotiate and cooperate to support people with food and clothing, health, education and local development.
3. No recruitment of civilians into the armed forces against their will.
4. No commission against civilians of violence, unlawful arrest, kidnap, torture, inhuman acts, imprisonment, murder and acts causing disappearance.
5. No extortion of money and take property from the people.
6. Do not block people’s freedom to travel in accordance with the law.
7. Do not arrest without reason, and prosecute and punish people on false grounds.
8. Do not seize land by force, and transfer land against the will of the owner.
9. Do not destroy, steal, xxx and take away public property without permission.
10. Do not block and disturb the right to education, destroy educational materials and schools and buildings, and disturb education officers and students.
11. Both sides must not block individuals’ right to health, and must allow transportation of medical equipment and medicine for the public. Moreover, 11. – Do not prohibit people from transporting their property and harvesting, storing food supplies and selling or to trading.
12. Do not set up military camps on premises of schools, hospitals, religious buildings and compounds.
