Provide IHBS services. Family Advocates (or equivalent) - Family Advocates work within a collaborative decision- making framework with professionals and family members (members of the public who are eligible for the family advocacy program) as partners in the design and implementation of a family service plan. Family Advocates work as co-equals with other system partners to elevate the voice of the families and ensuring their unique needs are being met. As lived experience is a requirement of the Family Advocate role, they ensure that families’ strengths are considered when planning services and supports, while also addressing any specific cultural, religious or language needs. Family Advocates should represent the diversity of the families currently receiving services.
