Punctuality and Dependability. Attendance and punctuality are indicators of a student’s commitment to their education and future. Students are expected to report to designated build or meeting site on time. All team members will need to be available and ready to participate as well as attend team meetings and team sponsored events. Team member participation demonstrated a commitment to success of the CASB Robotics Team 5484. Each team member is an ambassador of our team and Career Academy South Bend. Team members are role models for other students to emulate and respect. Positive behavior and judgement should be demonstrated at all times, in and out of school activities. Starting a task or project and following it through to the end is critical to team performance. Team member need to dedicate themselves to completing all assigned task or projects within Team 5484. Being a team player, doing what is needed for the team is an asset to all. However, working independently and showing initiative demonstrates leadership and dedication. The FIRST® Team requires hours beyond the normal school day. All team members are required to participate in the scheduled team and sub-team meetings, after school workshops, events, and other team activities. Attendance and punctuality are expected and required for this FIRST® Robotics Competition Kick-off meeting. The Kick-Off meeting is typically the first Saturday in January. All team members will need to understand the competition. Parents, Sponsors, and Team Members should be ready to participate. B uild Season Meetings: The build season starts during Kick-Off meeting and runs for 6 weeks. During the build season the team will meet 6 days a week. You are never to leave the shop area unless accompanied by an adult. Attendance is taken at all activities., it is the student’s responsibility to sign next to his or her name in the attendance book. All students are expected to be on time and stay the required amount of time. Students are required to spend 80% of the build hours in the shop in order to stay with the team at competition. In general, all activities are mandatory activities. Mandatory activities are those activities that attendance is required. Students missing two (2) or more activities may be placed on probation and possibly dropped from the team.
