Purchase Order Change. A Purchase Order Change issued after execution of the Purchase Order is a written order to the Provider, signed by the Owner authorizing a change in the Work or an adjustment in the Contract Sum or the Contract Time. The Contract Sum and the Contract Time can only be changed by Change Order. A Change Order signed by the Provider indicates his agreement therewith, including the adjustment in the Contract Sum and/or the Contract Time. The ODR may issue written authorization for the Provider to proceed with work of a Change Order in advance of final execution by all parties. 11.1.1 The Owner, without invalidating the Contract, and without prior approval of the surety, may order changes in the Work within the general scope of the Contract consisting of additions, deletions or other revisions, and the Contract Sum and the Contract Time will be adjusted accordingly. All such changes in the Work shall be authorized by Change Order, and shall be performed under the applicable conditions of the Contract Documents. If such changes cause an increase or decrease in the Provider’s cost of, or time required for, performance of the Contract, an equitable adjustment shall be made and confirmed in writing in a Change Order. 11.1.2 Except as provided above, no order, oral statement, or direction of the Owner or his duly appointed representative shall be treated as a change under this article or entitle the Provider to an adjustment.
