Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO. A Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) is a signed domestic relations order issued by a state court or agency which creates, recognizes or assigns to an Alternate Payee(s) the right to receive all or part of a Participant's Plan benefit and which meets the requirements of Code Section 414(p). Unless elected otherwise by the Employer in the Adoption Agreement, the earliest date for payment of a QDRO to an Alternate Payee is the date upon which the order is deemed qualified.
