Receiving Remuneration in Exchange for PHI Prohibited. Cigna shall not directly or indirectly receive remuneration in exchange for any PHI of an Individual, unless an authorization is obtained from the Individual, in accordance with 45 C.F.R. §164.508, that specifies whether PHI can be further exchanged for remuneration by the entity receiving PHI of that Individual, unless otherwise permitted under the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
