Reducing Part-Time Commitment (Individual Request. Notwithstanding D.12 (a) iii) the Employer and the Association may agree in certain circumstances and where operationally feasible, upon the written request of a part-time nurse who is within five years of eligibility of retirement, to permit the schedule of the part-time nurse to be adjusted to a lesser commitment. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Such an agreement shall be established by mutual written agreement of the Employer and the Association and the nurse affected. The parties agree that the arrangement applies to the individual, and not the position. Any party may discontinue the agreement with notice as determined by the agreement. In the event a nurse is laid off, transfers, etc., the agreement is terminated unless otherwise agreed. The nurse, should she be a member of a pension plan, will seek clarification to determine whether this agreement will impact her pension plan.
