Referrals to the Division of Rehabilitation Services. An individual who applies to VSP for services and who has a physical or mental impairment which may result in an impediment to employment should, with their agreement, be referred to DORS if the individual is interested in pursuing competitive integrated employment. Caution should be exercised in “screening out” applicants for referral to DORS without adequate information. Screening out cases without sufficient data, i.e., medical, vocational and other relevant data, may result in individuals with disabilities not receiving needed services. Referral Procedure.
