Common use of Reimbursement for Damaged or Stolen Property Clause in Contracts

Reimbursement for Damaged or Stolen Property. An employee may be reimbursed for items of personal property damaged or stolen in the line of duty without fault of the employee. The amount of the reimbursement shall be the actual value of the property or the cost to repair the property whichever is less. The value of the property shall be determined at the time the property is lost or stolen. In order to be eligible for reimbursement, written approval for the use of the property must have been given before the property is brought to the work location by the appropriate school administrator or supervisor. That administrator or supervisor shall maintain a listing of the personal property which the employee is using in his/her work.
