Common use of Rejection of the Freight Clause in Contracts

Rejection of the Freight. Shipper and/or consignee must mitigate damages by receiving the damaged cargo unless it is totally worthless and is without salvage value. Shipper and/or consignee may not abandon damaged or partially damaged shipments to the rail KCSM when the damaged shipment retains any value.
