Relieving Duties. Where a worker is employed on relieving duties and is required to travel a greater distance, because of such relieving duties, than to the usual station, such worker shall be paid travelling time, at the appropriate hour’s rate, for the time taken to travel such extra distance and such travelling time shall be computed for each quarter hour or part thereof.
Relieving Duties. Whenever possible, relieving assignments from station to station due to vacations, injuries, sickness, etc., shall be on a district by district basis with the reliever remaining in his assigned district. No member shall be required to relieve in excess of five (5) tours during any one relief assignment, with the exception of those who may be assigned to a designated relief pool. No member shall be required to relieve at more than two stations during any one tour unless emergency conditions require adjustments. Members that are designated as first drivers by the Company Officer shall not be required to relieve.
Relieving Duties. Where receiving on the job training an Employee under this agreement must be prepared to relieve another Employee of higher classification on a temporary basis during a shift. Where that occurs the relieving Employee will be paid his/her ordinary rate per hour while performing the duties of a higher classification. In all other cases an Employee performing duties which attract a higher rate of pay than the Employee’s usual duties shall be paid at the higher rate provided the Employee relieves for a full shift, and that the Employee has satisfactorily met the competency standards of the higher level.
Relieving Duties. An employee who is required by the employer to carry out work on a temporary basis that carries a higher rate of pay than the employee’s ordinary classification, shall be paid the higher rate while doing that work, including car allowance and associated kilometres.
