Requesting Paid Time Off Clause Samples
The 'Requesting Paid Time Off' clause outlines the process employees must follow to formally request time away from work while still receiving their regular pay. Typically, this clause specifies the required notice period, the method for submitting requests (such as through an HR portal or written form), and any documentation that may be needed for approval. Requesting Paid Time Off. Employees will be eligible to use paid time off after completion of ninety (90) days of Employment. Employees must request to use Paid Time Off at least two (2) weeks in advance, and, subject to operational needs and blackout dates. The Employer will notify Employees of the blackout dates for the year by January 15th. Paid Time Off will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, should two or more employees request Paid Time Off on the same day, and business needs to not allow for two Employees to be off on the same day, seniority will prevail in deciding who is granted leave. The employer will respond to paid time off requests within two (2) weeks of receipt of the request which will be submitted in accordance with company policy. Requests for PTO increments less than the Employee’s full regularly scheduled shift will be approved based on business needs. Employee’s pre-scheduled and approved paid time off will not be canceled once it has been approved due to unforeseen absences and Employees will not be required to find coverage for the shifts they are requesting to use Paid Time Off.
Requesting Paid Time Off. Employees must request scheduled paid time off with at least ten (10) working days advance notice. The Employer may accept a shorter notification period on a case-by-case basis for emergency situations.
Requesting Paid Time Off. Requests for PTO are to be submitted no later than prior to the 15th of month for the following month. This will allow ample opportunity for management to schedule coverage. Accordingly, requests received after the 15th of each month shall not be considered until the schedule is complete and will be considered based on remaining availability only. The following month’s schedule is to be published no later than the 25th of the month. PTO will be requested and approved in accordance with NCTD Employee Handbook, Section 8, Benefit Highlights. The vacation calendar will be updated monthly and be posted for viewing. Note: All preapproved time off for the calendar year of 2023 will be honored by NCTD and will be unpaid unless the employee chooses to use their accrued PTO.
