Required Minimum Instream Flows Sample Clauses

The Required Minimum Instream Flows clause establishes the minimum amount of water that must be maintained in a river or stream at all times. This requirement typically applies to water users such as municipalities, agricultural operations, or industrial facilities that withdraw water from the source, ensuring that their activities do not reduce flow below a specified threshold. By mandating these minimum flows, the clause protects aquatic ecosystems, supports downstream water rights, and helps prevent environmental degradation caused by excessive water withdrawals.
