Common use of Rescheduling Vacation Clause in Contracts

Rescheduling Vacation. Vacations will be rescheduled during the vacation year as follows: (a) Scheduled vacations will be approved four (4) weeks before the scheduled vacation dates and will not be subject to the rescheduling process in this section except when necessary due to production requirements or a bona fide emergency situation affecting employees and their availability for work. Shift changes will not be made solely for the purpose of permitting an employee to take his vacation during a preferred vacation date. Unscheduled vacations do not compete with scheduled vacations. (b) An employee transferring to a vacation (overtime) project may displace lower senior employees in that project to obtain preferred scheduled vacation slots. Affected employees will have the same rights.
