Reserved Codes. The following reserved code values are used: -1 INAPPLICABLE Question was not asked due to skip pattern -7 REFUSED Question was asked and respondent refused to answer question -8 DK Question was asked and respondent did not know answer -9 NOT ASCERTAINED Interviewer did not record the data -14 NOT YET TAKEN/USED Respondent answered that the medicine has not yet been used Generally, values of -1, -7, -8 and -9 have not been edited on this file. However, this is not true if a prescription drug name was determined to be a confidentiality risk. In these instances, the corresponding NDC was replaced with -9, the Multum Lexicon therapeutic class replaced the RXDRGNAM (Multum drug name) determined to be a confidentiality risk, and RXNAME (pharmacy drug name) was set to -9. The values of -1 and -9 can be edited by analysts by following the skip patterns in the questionnaire.
