RETIREMENT SYSTEM STATUS AND TAXES. Contractor represents and warrants that it is not a contributing member of the Oregon Public Employees’ Retirement System and will be responsible for any federal or state taxes applicable to payment received under the Contract Documents. Contractor will not be eligible for any federal Social Security, employment insurance, workers’ compensation or the Oregon Public Employees’ Retirement System benefits from Project payments, except as a self-employed individual. Unless Contractor is subject to backup withholding, Owner will not withhold from its payments to Contractor federal or state tax obligations.
