School Building Facilities. A. School Facilities 1. An adequately heated, lighted, ventilated and furnished work area containing appropriate technological devices in good working order and supplies used in the preparation of instructional materials shall be maintained in the High School and Elementary School buildings. 2. An adequately heated, lighted and furnished room to be reserved for the exclusive use of teachers as a faculty lounge, said room to be in addition to the above teachers' workroom area (One [1] in each building). 3. Each teacher shall be provided with the use of a telephone and a voice mail box. The telephone is provided to assist the teacher in notifying parents of student progress and concerns. 4. The parties agree that the campus and all school owned or leased buildings shall be smoke and tobacco free. 5. All sidewalks, corridor, entranceways and other aisles or passageways shall be maintained free and clear at all times to provide for the safety of teachers and students. Playground equipment and the playground area shall be likewise maintained in season for the safety of students and teachers.

School Building Facilities professional. A schedule for these tests will be made by the District within two (2) weeks of the selection of the independent professional and forwarded to the Association. If the report indicates that any facilities and/or equipment fail to meet any of the foregoing standards, the Superintendent of Schools or their designee will develop a plan of action and timeline for correcting the deficiencies. This plan of action will be developed by the District within sixty (60) calendar days after the report is received and forwarded to the Association.

Each teacher shall have a particular desk assigned to him/her for his/her personal use.
School Building Facilities. The Board shall make every effort to provide in each building the following: (a) A lockable space for personal items, a separate desk with drawer space for each teacher in the system; suitable space for each teacher to store coats, overshoes and other personal items; adequate chalkboard and bulletin board space in every classroom; copies exclusively for each teacher's use of all texts used in each of the courses he/she teaches, and where available, teacher's editions and manuals for said texts; a dictionary appropriate to classroom needs in each classroom in grades K through twelve (12); reasonable space in each classroom in which the teacher may safely store instructional materials and supplies; at least one room appropriately furnished and ventilated for use as a faculty lounge; a separate private dining room for the use of the staff. The staff shall be responsible for the policing of the area and no new construction shall be required. (b) The teachers shall at all times have safe and healthful conditions in the school buildings, parking facilities and exterior school premises, which will enable them to carry out their professional duties.

Working Conditions Conditions of employment and general working conditions, which are mandatory items of negotiations, will be maintained at existing standards except for good, proper and compelling reasons. B. Classroom Facilities Each classroom will be reasonably heated, lighted, ventilated, and will be furnished with serviceable and appropriate seating and writing facilities for each pupil and each teacher, and reasonable closet or cabinet space where teachers may safely store instructional materials and supplies. Teachers will be notified of classroom changes by the end of the week prior to the last day of school. C. Other Facilities There will be reasonable seating for all assemblies, and, where practical, reasonable playground facilities which are not also utilized for parking or other purposes.

Office machinery such as a computer, copying machine and supplies and a telephone shall be made available for professional use to teachers.
