School Cancellations. Ohio Revised Code §3313.48, mandates local school districts convert a district’s school calendar measured in days to now reflect and be measured in hours. According to R.C. §3313.48, as amended, the Board of Education must be open for instruction for a minimum of: 450 hours for half-day kindergarten; 910 hours for full-day kindergarten and grades 1-6; and 1001 hours for grades 7-12 per academic year.
