Common use of Security Exception Clause in Contracts

Security Exception. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed: (a) to require a Contracting Party to furnish any information, the disclosure of which it considers contrary to its essential security interests; (b) to prevent a Contracting Party from taking any actions which it considers necessary for the protection of its essential security interests; or (c) to prevent a Contracting Party from taking any action in pursuance of its obligations under the United Nations Charter for the maintenance of international peace and security.

Security Exception. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construedconstrued to: (a) to a. require a Contracting Party to furnish any information, the disclosure of which it considers contrary to its essential security interests; (b) to b. prevent a Contracting Party from taking any actions which it considers or measures necessary for the protection of to preserve its public order or protect its own essential security interests; or; (c) to c. prevent a Contracting Party from taking any action in pursuance of its obligations under the United Nations Charter for the maintenance of international peace and security; or d. require a Party to protect investments made with capital or assets derived from illegal activities.
