Common use of Seed germination Clause in Contracts

Seed germination. 1. Choose 50 seeds of good quality for each event to be assayed. The seeds of wild type should be prepared at the same time as a control. 2. Soak the seeds at room temperature for 3 days. 3. Sow the seeds in flats and cover the flats with net or plastic to protect from animals. 4. Check for seed germination every day. Make sure there is enough water and that the temperature is not too high. 5. Spray seedlings with the herbicide Finale at day 8 after seed sowing, or at the time >95% seeds have germinated. Note: Do not spray the wild type control. (Add 4 ml Finale in one liter of water. Shake the solution thoroughly before spraying). 6. Spray the seedlings again with the Finale solution of the same concentration 5 days after the first spraying. 7. Count herbicide resistant and herbicide sensitive seedlings 8 days after the second spraying. Then allow the seedlings to grow another week. 8. Supply fertilizer in the field one day before transplanting.
