This meta-model has been developed based on the principles of contextual navigation, which means that the proper understanding of a concept requires considering the context in which it occurs. Furthermore, the translation rules (mappings) only refer to the original ontologies and concepts, which means that the original definitions, constraints, relationships and axioms are not recorded in the translation rules, but are only represented by unique identifiers (references). The reason for this is that especially in the e-commerce scenarios these source ontologies are usually completely separate, and maintained by separate organizations.
