Senior Information Technology Applications Developer. Performs advanced professional duties pertaining to the design, development and maintenance of software application solutions to meet business needs; may serve as a lead or supervisor with responsibility for assigning, directing and monitoring the work of subordinate professional staff; may serve as a project manager, with responsibility for managing large development or customization of commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) projects; coordinates application deployments; may design, develop, test, document and implement Intranet and Internet websites; performs advanced professional level applications maintenance and customer support duties; performs other related duties as assigned. This is the advanced journey-level class. Incumbents at this level work under minimal direction, receiving occasional supervision while working toward a definite objective that requires use of a wide range of procedures and planning to meet and resolve complex problems.
