SENIORITY AFTER A LEAVE Sample Clauses
The 'Seniority After a Leave' clause defines how an employee's seniority is affected when they take a leave of absence. Typically, this clause specifies whether the time spent on leave counts toward the accumulation of seniority or if seniority is frozen during the leave period. For example, it may state that an employee returning from parental or medical leave will retain their previous seniority level, or that only certain types of leave are recognized for seniority purposes. The core function of this clause is to provide clarity and fairness regarding employee status after a leave, preventing disputes about rank, benefits, or promotion eligibility upon return.
