Seniority for Selection Purposes Sample Clauses
The 'Seniority for Selection Purposes' clause establishes that an employee's length of service with the organization will be a key factor in making decisions about selection, such as promotions, transfers, or layoffs. In practice, this means that when multiple employees are considered for a particular opportunity or are at risk of being laid off, those with greater seniority—meaning more years of continuous service—will generally be given preference. This clause helps ensure a transparent and fair process by providing a clear, objective criterion for selection decisions, thereby reducing disputes and perceptions of favoritism.
