The MCO can offer reasonable alternative services that meet a member’s needs and support desired outcomes at less expense. Reasonable alternatives are those which: a) Have been effective for persons with similar needs; b) Would not have a negative impact on desired outcomes; and. c) Are likely to support the desired outcomes.
