Shared Transport. The Shared Transport UNE is defined as interoffice transmission facilities shared by more than one carrier, including VERIZON, between Central Office Switches, between Central Office Switches and tandem switches, and between tandem switches, in VERIZON’s network. Shared transport (also known as common transport) provides the shared use of interoffice trunk groups and tandem switching that are used to transport switched traffic, originating or terminating on a VERIZON port, between Central Office Switching entities. Shared transport will include tandem switching if VERIZON’s standard network configuration includes tandem routing for traffic between these points. Shared transport is provided automatically in conjunction with port and local circuit switching. VERIZON reserves the right not to provide circuit switching and shared transport as an UNE under the circumstances described in Rule 51.319(c)(2).
