Common use of Shift Assignments and Transfers Clause in Contracts

Shift Assignments and Transfers. a. Sheriff in his sole discretion shall determine shift assignments and days off, the number of employees to be assigned to each shift, division, unit, bureau, or specialized position, and duty locations, as well as other determinations which affect the amount and quality of service to be provided to the public. b. Sheriff's authority as set forth in subparagraph a, shall not be used in discriminatory fashion nor for purpose of harassment. c. An employee transferred to a new duty location shall be given as much notice of the transfer as County reasonably can provide. Notice is not required when transfer is required to serve the public in an emergency.
