Sick Leave-Accumulation and Usage. Sick leave shall not be considered a privilege which an employee may use at his or her discretion, but shall be allowed only in cases of actual illness or disability. Sick leave shall accrue at the rate of eight hours per month with unlimited accumulation. For a half day or less of actual illness or disability (4 or 5 hours depending on the employee's schedule), there shall be no charge to sick leave; for more than a half day, a full day shall be charged (8 or 10 hours).
