Skill Broadening. Skill broadening is the development and use of employees to perform work outside their traditional roles. Skill broadening is achieved by providing employees with the training and opportunities to perform additional work safely. The intent of skill broadening is to enrich job content and increase job efficiency by: a) Removing the traditional boundaries in working roles b) Developing employee capabilities to perform work beyond their traditional roles. Skill broadening can be achieved by taking advantage of existing and future technology and by the development of employees who are highly trained with multiple capabilities and responsibilities. Skill broadening will include training and instruction of other employees. It will also include new responsibilities required to maximize the commercial performance of the company while ensuring compliance with company policies and sound health and safety and environmental practices.

Skill Broadening will include training and instruction of other employees. It also will include new responsibilities required to maximize the commercial performance of the Company while ensuring compliance with market rules and sound health and safety and environmental practices. Skill broadening and the compensation structure through the consolidation of occupation codes into new job groupings will not eliminate the distinctions between them. For example, Mechanical Maintainers will not become Control Technicians. However, there may be an overlap of duties between job groupings. The intent of skill broadening is not to fully qualify an employee in all other jobs but rather to maximize the capabilities of employees. Employees who participate in skill broadening can be required to work outside their job grouping with employees in other job groupings to jointly complete work assignments. All work assignments are dependent on employees having appropriate skill, knowledge and training. Employees working independently will be expected, once trained, to perform basic skills of other job groupings at the same or lower band. There may be limited circumstances where employees receive specific training in another job grouping to fully complete a specialized task. In addition to the responsibilities listed in their Job Documents, the work of employees will be expected to include additional tasks. This is further described in the Article 8 Intent Document which forms part of this agreement.

  • Employability Executive acknowledges (i) that Executive has sufficient abilities and talents to be able to obtain, upon the termination of Executive’s employment, comparable employment from another business while fully honoring and complying with the above covenants concerning confidential information and contacts with the Company’s or any of its Affiliates’ customers or employees, and (ii) the importance to the Company and its Affiliates of the above covenants. Accordingly, for a period of one (1) year following the termination of Executive’s employment with the Company and upon the Company’s reasonable request of Executive, Executive shall advise the Company of the identity of Executive’s new employer and shall provide a general description, in reasonable detail, of Executive’s new duties and responsibilities sufficient to inform the Company of its need to request a court order to enforce the above covenants.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend. b. The awareness program shall include but not be limited to: i. the definitions of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; ii. understanding situations that are not harassment or sexual harassment, including the exercise of an employer's managerial and/or supervisory rights and responsibilities; iii. developing an awareness of behaviour that is illegal and/or inappropriate; iv. outlining strategies to prevent harassment and sexual harassment; v. a review of the resolution of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; vi. understanding malicious complaints and the consequences of such; vii. outlining any Board policy for dealing with harassment and sexual harassment; viii. outlining laws dealing with harassment and sexual harassment which apply to employees in B.C.

  • of the Discipline The Local Church acknowledges that the Annual Conference has no control over the voting approval of the voting delegates and the voting approval is subject to the will and voting of the body. Should either of the above conditions not occur, this Disaffiliation Agreement shall immediately become null and void.

  • Inherent Managerial Rights The exclusive representative recognizes that the School District is not required to meet and negotiate on matters of inherent managerial policy, which include, but are not limited to, such areas of discretion or policy as the functions and programs of the employer, its overall budget, utilization of technology, the organizational structure and selection and direction and number of personnel.

  • STAFF ORIENTATION 4101 The Employer shall provide an appropriate orientation program for nurses newly employed. Where necessary, orientation shall be provided for nurses moving to a new area of practice. 4102 The Employer shall provide a program of inservice education for nurses pertinent to patient care. 4103 The Employer shall provide, access to reference materials as is required in relation to maintaining current knowledge of general nursing care.   • Cultural ceremonial leave may be taken as whole or part days off. Each day, or part thereof, shall be deducted from: a) the Employee's annual leave entitlements (where applicable); b) the Employee’s accrued long service leave entitlements, but in full days only; or c) accrued days off or time in lieu.

  • Contractor’s General Responsibilities The Contractor, regardless of any delegation or subcontract entered by the Contractor, shall be responsible for the following when providing information technology staff augmentation services: 3.1 The Contractor is responsible for the comprehensive management of Staff. Staff shall not be deemed an employee of the State or deemed to be entitled to any benefits associated with such employment and the Contractor shall be responsible for the administration and maintenance of all employment and payroll records, payroll processing, remittance of payroll and taxes, and all administrative tasks required by state and federal law associated with payment of Staff. 3.2 The Contractor shall provide Staff in accordance with Customer Requests for Quote (RFQ), and as described in Contract Exhibit J, Job Family Descriptions document. Customers may include detailed scopes of work, specific requirements of the work to be performed, and any requirements of Staff within the Request for Quote. 3.3 The Contractor shall possess the professional and technical staff necessary to allocate, outsource, and manage qualified Staff to perform the services requested by the Customer. 3.4 The Contractor shall provide Customers with Staff who have sufficient skill and experience to perform the services assigned to them. 3.5 The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that all information technology staff augmentation services furnished under the Contract meet the professional standards and quality that prevails among information technology professionals in the same discipline and of similar knowledge and skill engaged in related work throughout Florida under the same or similar circumstances. 3.6 The Contractor shall provide, at its own expense, training necessary for keeping Contractor’s Staff abreast of industry advances and for maintaining proficiency in equipment and systems that are available on the commercial market. 3.7 The Contractor shall, at its own expense, be responsible for adhering to the Contract background screening requirements, testing, evaluations, advertising, recruitment, and disciplinary actions of Contractor’s Staff. 3.8 The Contractor, throughout the term of the Contract, shall maintain all licenses, permits, qualifications, insurance, and approvals of whatever nature that are legally required for Contractor and Staff to perform the information technology staff augmentation services. 3.9 Contractor shall be responsible for all costs associated with the administration of this Contract. 3.10 The Contractor shall adhere to all work policies, procedures, and standards established by the Department and Customer. 3.11 The Contractor shall ensure that Staff conform with the Customer’s policies in all respects while on the Customer’s premises, and is responsible for obtaining all rules, regulations, policies, etc. 3.12 Contractor shall only provide information technology staff augmentation services for those Job Titles awarded to the Contractor and shall be paid on an hourly basis. Contracts resulting from this solicitation should not be structured as fixed-price agreements or used for any services requiring authorization for payment of milestone tasks.

  • Competencies The following competencies apply to this position. The employee will be assessed against these as part of their annual performance and development review.

  • Orientation The Employer shall provide planned and paid Orientation Programs of such content and duration as it deems appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Employer and the Nurses involved. Such Nurses will not be considered part of core staffing during their Orientation Program nor will they be provided with primary assignments.

  • WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY The employer must ensure that any Individual Flexibility Agreement (IFA) is genuinely agreed to by the employer and the employee and result in the employee being better off overall at the time the IFA is made than the employee would have been if no IFA had been agreed to. 8.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of the Agreement, the employer and an individual employee may agree to vary the application of certain terms of the Agreement to meet the genuine individual needs of the employer and the individual employee. The terms the employer and the individual employee may agree to vary are the application of those permitted under Section 172 of the FW Act, and relates only to:- 8.1.1 arrangements for when work is performed; 8.1.2 salary sacrifice arrangements; 8.1.3 reduction in ordinary hours; and 8.1.4 are not unlawful terms under Section 194 of the FW Act. 8.2 The employer and the individual employee must have genuinely made the IFA without coercion or duress. An IFA can only be entered into after the individual employee has commenced employment with the employer. 8.3 The IFA between the employer and the individual employee must: 8.3.1 be confined to a variation in the application of one or more of the terms listed in Clause 8.1; and 8.4 The IFA between the employer and the individual employee must also: 8.4.1 be in writing, name the parties to the IFA and be signed by the employer and the individual employee and, if the employee is under eighteen (18) years of age, the employee’s parent or guardian; 8.4.2 state each term of the Agreement that the employer and the individual employee have agreed to vary; 8.4.3 detail how the application of each term has been varied by agreement between the employer and the individual employee;
