Slovakia. (a) Slovakia may maintain in force for seven years from the date of its accession to the EU, its legislation regarding the acquisition by non-residents of agricultural land and forests. According to this legislation, (a non-resident may acquire ownership rights to real estate located in the Slovak Republic with the exception of the agricultural and forest land. The non resident may not acquire ownership rights to real estate whose acquisition is restricted by special regulation laid down in the Foreign Exchange Act No 202/1995 as amended).
