Sound level determination Sample Clauses
Sound level determination. The maximum sound level recorded at each side of the vehicle shall be reduced by 1 dB(A) to account for measurement inaccuracy and mathematically rounded to the nearest first decimal place (e.g. 78.45 shall be noted as to 78.5 while 78.44 shall be noted as to 78.4). These values constitute the results of the measurement. The measurement will be invalid if an abnormal discrepancy is recorded between the peak value and the general sound level. At least two measurements shall be made on each side of the vehicle. The measurements shall be considered valid if the difference between the results of the two consecutive measurements on the same side of the vehicle is not more than 2 dB(A). Preliminary measurements may be made for adjustment purposes, but shall be disregarded for the determination of the measurement results.
