Space Available to Charterer Clause Samples

The 'Space Available to Charterer' clause defines the amount and type of cargo space that the shipowner commits to making available for the charterer's use under a charter party agreement. In practice, this clause specifies whether the charterer has exclusive use of the vessel or only a portion of its capacity, and may detail any limitations or conditions, such as minimum or maximum tonnage or restrictions on the type of cargo. Its core function is to ensure both parties have a clear understanding of the cargo space allocation, thereby preventing disputes over space availability and usage during the charter period.
