Furthermore, in the event of death of a faculty member, members of the same department and/or grade level within the building shall be permitted to attend the funeral without loss of leave time or compensation.

Such pay shall not exceed a total of thirty (30) days in any calendar year. In the event an employee otherwise entitled to Jury Duty or Crown Witness reimbursement shall have been scheduled for a ten (IO)hour day on the in question, the employee shall receive ten hours at the employee's straight time hourly rate of pay subject to the other requirements of this section.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.
