Special Needs Route. Is a route that drives exclusively special needs students:
a. to and from school
b. worksites
c. community These routes require additional training including District restraint system, transporting students with disabilities, Q-Straint, and other training specific to the needs of the students.
Special Needs Route includes handicapped and preschool runs. One Special Needs Route may be part-time.
Special Needs Route. A. The driver of the special needs route shall be assured a minimum of four (4) hours with an additional thirty (30) minutes per day for fueling, cleaning, care of the bus, pre-inspection, and warm-up (15 minutes AM; 15 minutes PM). The special needs route may be adjusted as necessary according to the needs and requirements of the students involved. When the route exceeds the 4 ½ hour minimum, the driver shall be paid actual time worked to the next quarter hour.
B. The special needs bus aide shall be assured a minimum of four (4) hours per day. Should the hours exceed the 4 hour minimum, the bus aide shall be paid actual time worked to the next quarter hour.
C. Both 30.04 A and B are exempt from the posting and bidding procedures due to a pay differential outlined in Article 14.01.
Special Needs Route. Assignment of a minimum of four (4) hours per day and may include a 10 Mid-day run.
