SPECIALIZED JOB CLASSES. Where there is a difficulty with recruitment or retention for a particular specialized job class in which the pay rate is below the local market value assessment of that job class, the local parties may agree to apply a temporary skills shortage allowance to that job class in order to assist with recruitment and retention. The parties (EWAO and the CTA) agree to meet within 30 days (or another mutually agreed time) of receiving written notice of a decision to fully or partially merge, amalgamate or integrate a school board or authority. The Crown shall receive an invitation to participate in the meeting. The parties agree to discuss the impact to the affected school board or authority of the merger, amalgamation or integration, including possible redeployment strategies.
