Common use of Spousal Beneficiaries Clause in Contracts

Spousal Beneficiaries. If the sole primary Beneficiary is the deceased Owner’s “spouse” (as defined by federal law), upon Notice to Us from your surviving spouse, in lieu of receiving the Death Benefit, the Contract may be continued with the surviving spouse as the new Owner, pursuant to Section 72(s) of the Code and the following will apply:
