State Participation in CAHPS Survey. CMS will administer a standardized experience of care survey. The State, as part of the requirements of the Demonstration, will assist CMS and its designated contractor in administering the survey by helping to identify appropriate beneficiaries and providing necessary data. While the State is required to participate in the CMS-sponsored CAHPS survey as part of the Demonstration, the CAHPS measures will not be scored for purposes of determining the retrospective performance payment.
