Common use of Status of Grantee Clause in Contracts

Status of Grantee. The Grantee and its agents and employees are sub-grantees of a federal grant are not employees of the State of New Mexico. The Grantee and its agents and employees shall not accrue leave, retirement, insurance, bonding, use of state vehicles, or any other benefits afforded to employees of the State of New Mexico as a result of this Agreement. The Grantee acknowledges that all sums received hereunder are reportable by the Grantee for tax purposes, including without limitation, self- employment and business income tax. The Grantee agrees not to purport to bind the State of New Mexico unless the Grantee has express written authority from the State of New Mexico to do so, and then only within the strict limits of that authority.
