Status of the Guarantee. The obligations of the Guarantor under the Guarantee are direct, unconditional and (subject to the provisions of Condition 4) unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the Guarantor and rank at least equally with all other outstanding unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the Guarantor, present and future, other than obligations, if any, that are mandatorily preferred by statute or by operation of law. The Guarantee is limited to 120 per cent. of the aggregate principal amount of any Tranche of the Notes which may be issued under the Programme (in each case as specified in the applicable Final Terms) and 120 per cent. of the interest on such Notes accrued but not paid as at any date on which the Guarantor’s liability under the Notes falls to be determined.
