STDL Benefits Upon Layoff. (a) Subject to (b) below, employees who are receiving STDL benefits shall continue to receive such benefits upon layoff until the termination of the illness or injury or until the maximum benefit entitlement has been utilized, whichever comes first, if the layoff notice is given after the commencement of the illness or injury for which STDL benefits are being paid. (b) In the event that the layoff notice was given prior to the commencement of the illness or injury, benefits will cease on the effective date of the layoff only if the illness commenced within two (2) months before the effective date of the layoff.
