Storage and transmission of data. 3.1 Where practicable data should be encrypted at rest and during transmission using strong encryption techniques; best practices should be followed for key management. 3.2 Use of portable media should be avoided unless reasonably required to process the data. Where needed, data must be encrypted using a strong password or other secret information. 3.3 Any deletion of data should be permanent and deleted data should not be recoverable. 3.4 An information asset register should be maintained so that all UKB data can be removed on request or at the end of the agreement.
