Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse. Peer support services can effectively extend the reach of treatment beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process. This strategy integrates peer recovery support into a traditional primary care environment. Performing Agency will: 1. Coordinate System Agency-approved recovery support education and training. Require a minimum of 25% of clinic staff attend this training within three months of project start date and 75% of staff receive training within six months of project start date.
